In this article, you will find the steps to connect your adopted JoVE materials to your Brightspace/D2L course using the Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 LTI Tool.
Part One: Add the Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 Tool
Step 1.
Navigate to your course in Brightspace/D2L, then click Content at the top left.
Step 2.
Click Add a Module and name it Course Resources (or a similar title). Then open that module.
Step 3.
Inside the module, click Existing Activities → Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3.
- If the tool isn’t listed, your LMS Admin may have renamed it Willo or Follett Willo.
- You can also find it under External Learning Tools.
Note: If the tool is not listed, see Add the Tool Manually below.
If you found the tool, skip to Step 4.
⚙️ Add the Tool Manually
Use this only if the tool does not appear under Existing Activities.

- Go to Existing Activities → External Learning Tools.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Create New LTI Link.
- Fill out the form:
- Title: Follett Willo Digital Delivery

- (Optional) Check Open as External Resource to launch in a new tab.
- Click Create and Insert.
- Back in your module, click the new Follett Willo Digital Delivery link to continue pairing.
Important: If this link is for instructors only, set it to Hidden from users after setup.
Part Two: Pair the Courseware
Step 4.
Click Continue in a New Window.
Step 5.
On the Select Course to Pair screen, choose the correct course and click Pair Course.
Note: If your course is missing or shows incorrect details, see Missing Course Pairing below.
⚠️ Missing Course Pairing?
If your course didn’t appear on the pairing screen, follow these steps.

- Click Missing Course or Pair My Course Manually.

Missing Course sidebar opens. Search for your course materials in one of two ways:
- Search Course or Material to Pair: Enter course code or instructor name, then click Search.

Add a Product Token: Enter a product token and click Verify.
Need a Product Token? Email facultysetup@follett.com.
- Click Confirm → Select Term → Click Continue → Click Initialize Pairing.
✅ When you see Course Paired Successfully, return to the main flow to continue.
💡 Helpful Tip
If you see the screen shown below, select your JoVe Integration and proceed to the next step.
Part Three: Adding Product/Publisher Link(s) to Your Course
Step 6.
Select Continue to Publisher on the right to proceed to JoVE.
Note: You’ll revisit this page later to add the Course Support link(s).
Step 7.
Choose a Content Type, such as Videos.
Note: You can always come back to this screen later and select more videos/content
Step 8.
Select a Discipline that matches your Course Topic.
Narrow it down by Selecting a Subject.
Browse and choose topics within selected subject.
Click the + buttons next to the videos you want to add (1 or multiple) and then click the Submit button in the bottom right corner to return them to your LMS.
Step 9.
Next, click Close Window.
Step 10.
The content links you selected will now appear in the Canvas Module area.
Step 11.
Once your JoVE links have been added to the course, return to your Canvas course resources module to add the Follett Access Support link(s) by completing the following:
- Click +
- Select External Tool from the drop-down menu
- Then select Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 to open the Course Management screen.
- Select Follett Access Support and (optional Instructor Self Service) then click Add Link(s).
Note: The Follett Access Support link is available to both students and faculty. Faculty should encourage students to use it to a helpdesk ticket if they experience issues accessing materials.
Note: The Instructor Self Service link is for instructors and should be hidden from students.
Step 12.
Click Close Window and return to your Canvas course.
Step 13.
Click one of the JoVE links added to initialize your course pairing and complete the pairing process.
Step 14.
If prompted, select your academic term from the dropdown menu and click Submit.
Grade Sync:
Grade sync is supported for JoVE quizzes and does not require any additional setup beyond returning the quizz links to Canvas. All quizzes are scored and will sync as a percentage.
✅ Your course material links are now paired with your Canvas course!
