Many digital materials will be provided by Kortext or RedShelf. You can determine which content provider is associated to the materials you have purchased by reviewing the domain name of the URL where you will access the content.
Kortext: If the domain includes kortext.com, your digital materials are being delivered via Kortext.
RedShelf: If the domain includes brytewave.redshelf.com, your digital materials are being delivered via RedShelf.
Other: If the URL does not include Kortext or RedShelf in the domain, your digital materials are being delivered via another platform. For example, courseware is often accessed on the publisher’s proprietary platform.
Examples of where the domain will be visible:
-
Print or Electronic Receipt (In-Store Purchases)
On your printed or electronic receipt, each material that was purchased in a digital format will be listed in the eBook Download Information section, along with a PIN/redemption code and URL for the redemption website.
Below are sample receipts from Kortext and RedShelf (BryteWave), displayed in electronic and printed format, respectively.
Note: If no digital credentials appear on the receipt, this information will be sent to your school issued email address by the content provider along with instructions for activation.
-
Email from Content Provider (All Transaction Types)
On some campuses, Follett may be integrated with the campus to allow for automatic provisioning of digital materials. In these situations, if the school-issued email is entered during the transaction, the student will receive an email from the content provider with instructions on how to access the digital material purchased.
Below are sample emails from Kortext and RedShelf (BryteWave).
-
Order Update Email (Online Purchases)
When digital materials are purchased online, you will receive an Order Update email from the campus store. Within the Order Update, the URL associated to each digital material purchased will be listed under the DIGITAL ACCESS INFORMATION heading of the Accessing Your Digital Materials section.
Below are samples of an Order Update for digital materials delivered by Kortext and Other.
-
Email from Campus Store (Follett Access Programs)
Some campuses have partnered with Follett to offer a course materials affordability program where materials are incorporated into your tuition or cost of the course. In these scenarios, students enrolled in a course participating in the program will receive an email from the campus store with specific instructions on accessing each digital material that is being provided.
Below is a sample of this email.
Once you have gained access to the digital material, you can determine the content provider by reviewing the domain of the URL. Note: Each material has its own link, as the method for accessing content often varies.
-
eReader (All Transaction Types)
When viewing your digital material in the provider’s platform, the URL domain and logo will be visible in your browser whether viewing on desktop or mobile device.
Below are samples of the digital bookshelf in the desktop version of the Kortext and RedShelf eReaders.
