Start by clicking/tapping the TT icon in the top-right corner of the page when inside your book.
From here you will see a menu allowing you to customise the display in your book. The accessibility options vary based on whether the book is an EPUB or PDF format.
EPUB books
In the EPUB display menu, you will have the capability to adjust:
-
The Typeface
By clicking/tapping the down-arrow, you can read your book from a variety of fonts in the dropdown menu.
-
Scroll/Pages Mode
-
Scroll mode shows a single page of your book allowing you to scroll up and down to view your content. The page starts and finishes at fixed locations that remain unchanged when adjusting other display features.
Page width and layout are not adjustable in this setting.
-
Pages mode allows you to view your book in a double page spread and can be different lengths based on the text size and page width. This means all content is shown on the same screen without the need to scroll.
-
Page width
Adjust the margin between the edge of the page and the text by increasing this distance with the + button and reducing with the – button.
-
Text size
Increase or decrease the text size using the + button to increase and the – button to decrease.
-
Layout
A choice of three icons will change your display to a single-page or double-page view. There is an auto-layout option that will automatically adjust your page based on the content.
-
Tone
Change the background colour of your book by selecting one of the coloured circles in the menu screen.
PDF books
Due to the format of PDF files, books of this file type have display features that are limited to:
-
Fit to width
Clicking this button will fill the page horizontally, allowing you to scroll to view all the content on the page.
-
Fit to height
Selecting this option will show you the whole page in one window.
-
Zoom in
Each click increases the size of the page in increasing increments.
-
Zoom out
Clicking the zoom out option reduces the size of the page in decreasing increments.
Features of both EPUB and PDF books
-
Primary click opens highlight
If this checkbox is ticked, clicking on a highlight will send you straight to the notes popup, increasing the ease of customising notes and highlights.
-
Language
Using the dropdown, you can change the language of the Kortext menus. Note, this will not change the language of the text in the book, However, you can do this by using the ‘Translate’ feature in study+.
