We need your help to ensure your campus is ready for this improved ebook experience. Here’s what this change means for your campus.
What’s Changing for Students
Purchasing ebooks
Students will still be able to purchase ebooks easily in-store and online, just as they do today. However, with Kortext, they’ll gain access to a more intuitive platform with enhanced study tools that make it easier to stay engaged and organized.
If available on your campus, students will still be able to use eligible financial aid funds for ebook purchases.
Here’s How Students Will Access Their ebooks
Similar to the experience they have today, students will access their materials via a code on their store receipt, directly on Kortext after purchase, or via an email from Kortext.
- Store Receipts - When students purchase digital materials, store receipts and order status emails will include login details for easy access.
- Direct Login - Students can go to read.kortext.com and log in to access their materials.
- Email from Kortext - Where direct provisioning is enabled, students will receive an email with a direct link to their ebook.
- Via their LMS - Where enabled, students can access their Kortext materials through their LMS.
How you can ensure your campus is ready for the transition
- Communicate with your faculty and LMS administrators that this change is coming and by Fall term, content will be delivered through this exciting new platform.
- Update your knowledge center or support articles to let students know that they can purchase digital course materials in store and online. Instructions for how to access their digital materials will be included as part of the purchase.
- Ensure students know that any ebooks previously delivered via BryteWave powered by RedShelf will continue to be available through the term of the user’s license via redshelf.com.
There are No Changes for Faculty
- The process for faculty to select and assign course materials remains unchanged.
- The ISBNs for adopted course materials will remain the same with the transition to Kortext, so there is no need for faculty to update syllabi or other resources.
- Faculty can include a link to your campus store’s website in their course information to help students easily find their course materials.
