In this article, you will find the steps to connect your Cengage courseware to Blackboard Learn or Blackboard Ultra views using the Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 tool with your campus program.
Configuration steps will differ between Learn and Ultra views in Blackboard. To confirm the view of Blackboard that you'll be using, review the images below and make use of the quick-links to navigate to the appropriate instructions related to Blackboard Learn or Blackboard Ultra configuration:

Part One — Adding the Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 Tool (Learn)
Step 1.
Navigate into your Blackboard Learn course.
Step 2.
Click an existing Content Area on the left course menu (or create a new one). Example: Ebook and Courseware.
Step 3.
Inside the Content Area, click Build Content → select Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3.
Step 3a — Don’t see the tool? Click for manual add steps.
- Build Content → Web Link
- Name: Follett Willo Digital Delivery
- URL:

- Check “This link is to a Tool Provider.” (Recommended) hide from students.
- Submit, then continue to Step 4.
Part Two — Pairing the Courseware (Learn)
Step 4.
Click Continue in a new window.
Step 5.
The Select Course to Pair screen appears. If you teach multiple courses, you may see several listed. Find the correct course and click Pair Course.
Note: If your course is missing or the information appears incorrect, see Missing Course Pairing below.
Missing Course Pairing?
Click here if your course did not appear in Step 5 and follow the instructions below:
- Click Missing Course or Pair My Course Manually.

Missing Course sidebar s. Search for your course materials in one of two ways:
- Search Course or Material to Pair: Enter course code or instructor name, then click Search.

Add a Product Token: Enter a product token and click Verify.

- Click Confirm, select the term, click Continue, then click Initialize Pairing.
Part Three — Adding Cengage Product/Publisher Links to Your Course (Learn)
Step 6.
Select Continue to Publisher on the right to proceed to Cengage.
Note: We’ll revisit this page later to add the Follett Access Support link(s).
Step 7.
Log into your Cengage account using your Cengage credentials.
Note: If your institution uses SSO (Single Sign-On), you may be redirected to your campus sign-in page before completing setup.
Step 8.
Select your Cengage Platform:
- Online Learning Platform + eBook — choose this if you assign full courseware.
- eBook Only — choose this if you only use the digital textbook.
- Cengage Infuse — choose this for Cengage Infuse + eBook.
Step 9.
Select your adopted Cengage product. If no product is listed, search for the product. After you select it, click Continue.
Step 10.
For instant, codeless access, select Inclusive Access and click Continue.
Step 11.
Choose how you’d like to set up your course:
- Create a new course
- Copy your existing course (same Cengage product required)
- Copy another instructor’s course using a Course Key (same product required)
- Link to an existing course (only if it has no student enrollments)
Select the option that fits, then click Continue.
MindTap only (if shown): Gradebook Sync options
You’ll only see this screen if your course uses MindTap.
Choose how grades will appear in your Blackboard Learn gradebook:
- Individual columns — displays each assignment separately.
- Single column — displays one overall course score.
Select your preferred option, then click Continue.
If you don’t see this screen, continue to the next step.
Step 12.
Enter general course details for your course, including Course Name, Time Zone, Course Start Date, and Course End Date.
Click Finish.
Step 13.
Your Cengage product is now paired with your Blackboard course. Select one of the following:
(1) Click Add Course Link - to deploy one Course link that accesses the entire course.
(2) Click Select Content - to deploy individual activity or assignment-level deep links.
Note: You may return to the Cengage Content Selector any time to deploy additional links.
Step 14.
Click the Cengage link added in Blackboard to initialize the course pairing.
After pairing is initialized, continue to Step 15 to add the Follett Access Support (recommended) link and the Instructor Self-Service(optional) link.
Step 15.
Adding the Follett Access Support and (optional) Instructor Self-Service links:
- In your course content area, click the Build Content drop-down menu and select the Follett Willo digital delivery 1.3 tool.
- The Add Course Links screen s. Check the link(s) you want, then click Push Links.
Note: Hide Instructor Self-Service from students; it’s for instructor use only and routes to the Course Management page.
Adding Cengage Activity Links to Your Course
These steps show how to add individual assignment or chapter links that take students directly into specific areas of your Cengage course (rather than the product homepage).

Click Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 from the Build Content area.
- Click Continue to Publisher to launch your Cengage dashboard.
- In Cengage, click Select Content to view available items.
- Check the boxes for the eBook chapters or activities you’d like to add, then click Continue.
Note: Some activities support gradebook sync and show an extra checkbox — select it to automatically create graded columns in Blackboard.
- When you see Link Selection Complete, your activity links have been added. Click Close Window to return to Blackboard.
Your Cengage activity links are now added to your Blackboard course!

Part One — Adding the Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 Tool (Ultra)
Step 1.
Navigate to your Blackboard Ultra course.
Step 2.
On the right panel, under Books & Tools, click View course & institution tools.
Step 3.
From the Institution tools list, click Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3.
Step 3a. (If needed)
If you don’t see the tool, click Browse all course tools at the bottom of the menu.
Step 3b. (If needed)
From the full list, select Follett-Willo Digital Delivery 1.3.
Don’t see Follett-Willo 1.3? Click below.
Note: If you are unable to find the Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 link in your Blackboard course, follow the directions below to add the tool manually.
Click to expand steps.
- Navigate to your Blackboard course homepage.
- Click any + symbol on the course homepage to Create.
From your course homepage, click a plus (+) icon to Create.
- Click Teaching Tools with LTI Connection.
Select Teaching Tools with LTI Connection.
- In Name, enter something clear, e.g., Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3.
- In URL, paste the correct Configuration URL:

- USA:
- Keep the item hidden from students (instructor-facing tool).
- Check in a new window.
Recommended: keep hidden from students and enable “ in a new window.”
- If you’ve entered a Name, kept it hidden from students, pasted the correct URL, and checked in a new window, click Save.
- Now click the Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3 link you added on your Blackboard homepage to proceed.
When the link is created, click it to continue to Step 4 (Pairing).
Part Two — Pairing the Courseware (Ultra)
Step 4.
Click Continue in a new window.
Step 5.
The Select Course to Pair screen appears. If you teach multiple courses, you may see several listed. Find the correct course and click Pair Course.

Step 6.
Select Continue to Publisher on the right to proceed to Cengage.
Note: We’ll revisit this page later to add the Follett Access Support link and the optionalInstructor Self Service link.
Step 7.
Log into your Cengage account using your Cengage credentials.

- In your course content area, the Build/Add Menu and select Follett Willo Digital Delivery 1.3.
- The Add Course Links screen s. Check the link(s) you want, then click Push Links.

Adding Cengage Activity Links to Your Course
